Job summary

Maniilaq Association in Kotzebue, Alaska seeks a Patient Health Benefits Specialist I/II to identify eligible patients for Medicaid, Medicare, and other programs, and assist with completing applications. The role includes tracking eligibility and traveling to villages for enrollment projects.

You will keep logs, ensure privacy, and collaborate with Maniilaq leaders and the revenue cycle team to keep enrollment data current in the RPMS/EHR systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Strong communications and typing skills. Experience with Word/Excel preferred. Travel to villages and public speaking ability are assets.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients/community members eligible for health benefits when uninsured or underinsured.
• Assist with completing applications for Medicaid, Medicare, AlaskaCare programs and others.
• Track eligibility status and maintain logs for reporting to Maniilaq leaders or state entities.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy compliance and coordinate with service organizations for enrollment resources.
• Travel to villages for enrollment projects and provide patient education and outreach.
