Registration Clerk I: Interviews patients or their representative to get personal and insurance information. Verifies insurance information with appropriate insurers. Enters and updates this information into the computer. Contacts insurers by phone to pre-authorization when required. Provides on call coverage for ER registration as scheduled. Reports directly to the Patient Financial Services Director.
Registration Clerk II: Interviews patients or their representative to get personal and insurance information. Verifies insurance information and obtains pre-authorization and/or pre-certification as needed. Enters and updates this verified information into the computer. Assigns chart numbers from Medical Records listing and prepares charts. Provides Medicaid information to new parents and assists with obtaining Medicaid number. Provides on call coverage for ER registration as scheduled. Reports directly to the Patient Financial Services Director.
