Job summary

Alfa Laval is seeking a Header Welder to join our Tulsa/Broken Arrow team. You will read blueprints, set up MIG welds, and use oxyacetylene torches to preheat and cut openings on headers.

The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety policies, and the ability to work with cranes for load handling. Qualified candidates have at least 1 year of manufacturing experience, can read tape measures, and are proficient in MIG, flux core welding, and oxyacetylene/sub arc torches.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience; industry experience preferred.
• Able to read blueprints and tape measures.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• 1 year experience with MIG, flux core welding and oxyacetylene/sub arc torches preferred.
• Must pass Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) if working on stainless steel.
• Crane/hoist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and instructions for weld procedures and layouts.
• Operate a MIG welding machine to weld headers.
• Operate oxyacetylene torches to preheat heads and cut openings.
• Perform layout and fit‑up of water jacket headers.
• Complete preventive maintenance and assist with routine machine upkeep.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety policies.
• Support team leads and train others as needed.
• Cross-train in other areas to acquire new skills.
