Job summary

Alfa Laval is seeking a Header Welder to perform welding and fabrication tasks in Tulsa, OK and surrounding areas. You will read blueprints, operate MIG and flux-core welders, and use oxyacetylene/sub-arc torches to assemble header components.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, basic math, and English proficiency. Candidates with crane/hoist experience and safety-conscious work style are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with relevant experience.
• Pass Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) if working on stainless steel.
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience; industry experience preferred.
• Basic math and ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• 1 year of MIG and flux core welding and oxyacetylene/sub-arc torches preferred.
• Successful completion of the G Welder test.
• Overhead crane and hoist experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English to understand blueprints, safety instructions, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and instructions to understand weld procedures, header layout, and plate thickness.
• Operates a MIG welding machine to weld headers.
• Operates oxyacetylene torches to preheat heads and cut openings.
• Performs layout and fit-up of non ASME code water jacket headers.
• Complete Preventive Maintenance Checklist and routine machine maintenance.
• Provides needed materials to various workstations and locations.
• Operates crane and hoist to load/unload heads.
• Assists Team Lead with tasks and training others as needed.
• Crosstrain in other areas/departments to acquire new skills.
• Maintain a clean work area; prioritize safety and adherence to policies.
