Job summary

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. is seeking a Restaurant Supervisor to assist in daily shipboard restaurant operations and lead a team of dining staff.

You will mentor, manage, and train your crew, ensure tables are set and service standards meet company requirements, and coordinate with the mess areas and catering events on board. During service, supervise the dining area, monitor guest satisfaction, ensure hygiene and sanitation standards, and manage stock checks and cost controls while facilitating

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily operation of the restaurant.
• Mentor, manage, train and contribute to the development of staff within own area.
• Plan, organise and direct the work of a dedicated restaurant team to provide a courteous and efficient service.
• Ensure tables are set prior to and after service and that standards of service comply with company requirements.
• Highlight any fixtures or fittings that need repair or renewal, liaising with the relevant department as necessary.
• Meet and greet passengers in a friendly and polite manner and ensure special diets are collected and delivered accurately.
• Coordinate and undertake training of staff regarding dietary requirements.
• During service periods visit tables, monitor service standards, resolve issues and ensure buffet areas are stocked.
• Produce working routines for the team that provide adequate manning levels and promote efficiency.
• Supervise outside catering events and manage setup/breakdown of special events as required.
• Ensure table turnover is maximised to increase revenue and passenger billing is correctly entered in the system.
• Monitor and manage costs and resources within own area and maintain par stock levels; ensure equipment is sanitised and functional.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, in compliance with safety and company policies, and that paperwork is completed on time.
• In charge of running crew and officers mess areas when required, including setup/breakdown of mess rooms and adherence to food safety policy.
