Job summary

Viking is seeking a Head Waiter to support the Restaurant Manager aboard our ships. You will train and lead a multinational restaurant team, ensure high guest satisfaction, and deliver Viking’s STAR Service Standards across all F&B operations.

You will supervise staff, coordinate reservations and seating, and maintain hygiene, safety, and cost controls while upholding impeccable grooming and professional appearance in a premium brand hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as Head Waiter, Assistant Maitre’d, or similar in premium hospitality.
• Shipboard experience in the position is required.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication and guest relation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and assign staff to sections; assist with daily menu presentations and ship F&B events.
• Manage guest reservations and seating; communicate allergies and special needs.
• Ensure effective communication with Executive Chef, Galley and Bar teams.
• Conduct monthly inventories and assist with durable orders.
• Manage restaurant cost budgets and inventory tasks; supervise pest logs as required.
• Lead the team to achieve Viking’s STAR Service Standards and provide coaching and feedback.
