Job summary

The Y of Central Maryland is seeking a Head Start Resource Aide to support teachers and help develop a safe, engaging classroom for young children.

You will assist with schedules, routines, and transitions, support children with special needs, and help create an environment that promotes social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative growth for economically disadvantaged learners.

Qualifications

• Supports early childhood well-being and education.
• Experience with children with special needs preferred.
• Strong communication and listening with children, families, and staff.
• Willingness to obtain the 90-hour child care certification.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers to support goals and objectives.
• Serve as a resource to children with special needs or individualized plans.
• Help manage schedules, routines, and transitions.
• Ensure health, welfare, and safety of children in the program.
