Job summary

The Y of Central Maryland is hiring a Head Start Teacher to plan, manage and supervise early childhood classroom structure, including lesson plans, schedules, routines and transitions. You will lead the classroom, support associates, and ensure compliance with federal and state standards, as well as the Y's philosophy of early childhood education and child safety.

Qualifications

• Interest in well-being and education of young children.
• 2 years of early childhood experience.
• Ability to clearly communicate and listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and colleagues.
• A BA/BS or AA degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services or related field.
• 90 hour child care certification and 9 hours in communication.
• Child Development Associate certificate (preferred).
