Job summary

The YMCA of Central Maryland, Inc. is seeking a Resource Aide for Baltimore City Head Start to collaborate with classroom teachers and support child development in a warm, mission-driven environment.

You will help ensure health, welfare and safety of children, assist with instruction and transitions, and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere for economically disadvantaged participants.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Some prior experience working with children, including those with special needs.
• Ability to clearly communicate and listen to children, parents/guardians, and other staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers to provide instruction to children.
• Support classroom routines, schedules and transitions.
• Help ensure the health, welfare, and safety of the children in the program.
• Contribute to a positive, supportive learning environment.
