Job summary

The Y of Central Maryland is hiring a Head Start Resource Aide to support classroom teachers and assist in providing instruction and individualized support for children in our program. You will help manage classroom routines, ensure health and safety, and contribute to a nurturing learning environment.

Candidates with a high school diploma or GED and a 90 hour child care certification are preferred, with willingness to complete certification upon hire.

Qualifications

• Clear communication with children, parents/guardians, and staff.
• Patience, good humor, and good judgment.
• Experience with special needs children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers with instruction and routines.
• Serve as a resource to children with individualized plans.
• Assist in managing classroom schedules, routines, and transitions.
• Ensure health, welfare, and safety of children in the program.
• Help create an environment supporting social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development.
