Job summary

Hill Country Community Action Association, Inc. is seeking a Mental Health Aide for Head Start programs. This 28-hour, non-exempt position collaborates with educators and health professionals to support a designated child in managing classroom behavior and meeting Head Start standards.

Responsibilities include caregiving tasks, data recording, and adapting to the classroom schedule. A warm, reliable, bilingual-friendly candidate with a high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a warm, supportive attitude toward young children and parents.
• Ability to record data pertinent to Head Start Performance Standards.
• Bilingual skills are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with MH/Disability coordinator, school district, and mental health professionals.
• Support designated child with classroom management and behavior plans.
• Perform diaper changing and related caregiving tasks as needed.
• Complete monthly Aide Checklist and work only when the child is present.
• Be flexible with work hours to meet classroom needs.
