Job summary

Hill Country Community Action Association, Inc. is seeking a Mental Health Aide (28 hours) to support designated children under the Head Start program.

You will assist with classroom management and implement behavior plans in coordination with MH professionals and school staff. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, reliability, and a warm, communicative approach with children and families; bilingual skills are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED, with ability to record data relevant to program standards.
• Must have a warm, supportive attitude toward children and parents; reliable and able to work with professionals.
• Bilingual skills are encouraged to support diverse families.

Responsibilities

• Assist designated child with classroom management and behavior plans as directed.
• Collaborate with MH/Disability coordinator, school district, and mental health professionals.
• Perform diaper changing and maintain monthly aide checklists.
• Work only when the child is present and adapt to varying classroom needs.
• Operate office machines and use a computer as required.
