Job summary

Hill Country Community Action Association, Inc. is seeking a part-time Mental Health Aide (28 hours) to support designated children within Head Start. You will collaborate with MH professionals, school districts, and staff to implement behavior plans and assist with classroom management under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, reliability, and a caring approach. Bilingual skills are encouraged; CPR/First Aid certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must have a warm, supportive, pleasant and positive attitude toward young children and parents.
• Ability to record data pertinent to Head Start Performance Standards.
• Must obtain or maintain CPR and First Aid certifications within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with MH/Disability coordinator, school district, and/or mental health professional.
• Works specifically with designated child which may have difficulty with classroom management.
• Diaper Changing
• Completes monthly Aide Checklist
• Works only when the child is present.
• Work hours may vary according to the classroom needs.
• Center director supervises the Mental Health Aide's task.
