Job summary

Hill Country Community Action Association, Inc. is seeking a Mental Health Aide (28 hours) to support Head Start students. The position focuses on classroom management, adherence to MH/Behavior Intervention Plans, and collaboration with district and mental health professionals.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, reliability, and the ability to work with families and professionals. Bilingual skills are encouraged, with on-site hours during the academic year and supervision by the

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED. Ability to record data pertinent to Head Start Performance Standards.
• Must have a warm, supportive, pleasant and positive attitude toward young children and parents.
• Ability to communicate and function with various professionals and community groups.
• Bilingual skills are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with MH/Disability coordinator, school district, and/or mental health professional.
• Works specifically with designated child which may have difficulty with classroom management.
• Diaper Changing
• Completes monthly Aide Checklist
• Works only when the child is present.
• Work hours may vary according to the classroom needs.
• Center director supervises the Mental Health Aide's task.
