Job summary

The Hill Country Community Action Association is seeking a Mental Health Aide for 28 hours a week to support a designated child within the Head Start classroom. The role emphasizes collaboration with mental health professionals and classroom staff to implement behavior plans.

Responsibilities include assisting with classroom management, data recording, and coordination with district and MH coordinators. The position requires flexibility in hours and close supervision by the Center Director.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; ability to record data per Head Start standards.
• Must have a warm, supportive attitude toward young children and parents; reliable and able to follow directions.
• Bilingual skills are encouraged; ability to communicate with diverse professionals.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with MH/Disability coordinator, school district and mental health professionals.
• Support designated child with classroom management challenges and implement relevant plans (BIP, Behavior Management).
• Perform diaper changing and complete monthly aide checklists as required.
• Work hours vary according to classroom needs and are supervised by the Center Director.
