Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support Head Start classrooms in New Jersey. You will work with the Head Start team to ensure standards compliance and deliver developmentally appropriate activities.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, documentation, family engagement, and attendance at staff meetings. A CDA or enrollment in CDA program, plus a high school diploma and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Must have CDA or enroll immediately in CDA program/early childhood coursework leading to degree.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have a car available on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in planning and implementing educational activities with children.
• Assist in observing, screening, assessing, and documenting children's growth.
• Assist in carrying out administrative duties delegated by the teacher.
• Assume teacher responsibilities in the absence of the teacher.
• Prepare and maintain records; manage daily attendance and in-kind records.
• Attend weekly Center staff meetings and trainings.
• Encourage parent and volunteer involvement; assist with Home Visits and conferences; coordinate volunteers.
• Any other Head Start task as delegated by Teacher or management.
