Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Head Start program in meeting performance standards and state licensing requirements in New Jersey.

You will collaborate with the Head Start lead teacher to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and track children's progress. Qualifications

• Must have CDA or enroll immediately in CDA program or coursework leading to degree.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have a car available on a daily basis.
• Must be able to read and write sufficiently to maintain proper records.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing educational activities in the classroom with developmentally appropriate interaction.
• Assist in observing, screening, assessing, and documenting children's growth and development.
• Assist in administrative duties as delegated by the teacher.
• Assume Teacher responsibilities in the absence of the Teacher.
• Prepare and maintain records or reports, including daily attendance and in-kind records.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings and attend trainings/workshops.
• Encourage and coordinate parent and volunteer involvement, including home visits and conferences.
• Perform any other Head Start tasks as delegated.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

CDA program enrollment or equivalent coursework
