Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. seeks an Assistant Teacher to support the Head Start program. You will assist in planning and implementing education activities, observe and document child development, and help maintain classroom records and attendance.

The role requires CDA program enrollment or enrollment in early childhood coursework toward a degree, a high school diploma or GED, and reliable transportation. Daily interactions with children and collaboration with staff are essential.

Qualifications

• Assist in planning and implementing educational activities in the classroom and interact with children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
• Assist in observing, screening, assessing, and documenting children's growth and development.
• Must be able to read and write sufficiently to maintain proper records.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in planning and implementing educational activities in the classroom.
• Document observations and individual activities in blue books.
• Carry out administrative duties as delegated by the teacher.
• Assume Teacher responsibilities in the absence of the Teacher.
• Prepare and maintain records or reports, including daily attendance and in-kind records.
