Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support Head Start classrooms in Mays Landing, NJ.

The role involves assisting teachers with educational activities and interactive, developmentally appropriate engagement with children, while helping with record-keeping and family involvement. Candidates must have a CDA or be enrolled in CDA coursework, hold a High School Diploma or GED, and have daily access to a car.

Qualifications

• Must have a CDA or enroll immediately in CDA program or early childhood coursework leading to an associate or bachelor degree.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing educational activities and interact developmentally with children.
• Assist in observing, screening, assessing, and documenting children's growth; record in blue books.
• Assist in performing administrative duties as delegated by the teacher.
• Assume teacher responsibilities in the teacher's absence.
• Prepare and maintain attendance and classroom records; report in-kind monthly.
• Attend weekly Center staff meetings and trainings; participate in workshops.
• Encourage and coordinate parent and volunteer involvement; accompany Home Visits and Parent/Teacher conferences.
• Carry out any other Head Start tasks as delegated by the Teacher or management.
