Maryland Rural Development Corporation (MRDC) is seeking a Head Start Teacher Assistant to support preschool learning in a safe, engaging classroom. You will assist with instruction, daily routines, and family engagement, helping children develop school readiness and social-emotional skills.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED; CDA or higher in Early Childhood Education is preferred. This eleven-month, full-time role offers a competitive starting wage and opportunities to grow

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required; CDA credential, Associate’s degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Experience with preschool-aged children in an early childhood setting preferred

Responsabilidades

• Assist Head Start Teacher in planning and implementing lesson plans
• Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities
• Observe and assess children’s development and contribute to individualized learning plans
• Encourage positive social-emotional behaviors and problem-solving
• Supervise children to ensure a safe, nurturing environment
• Assist with classroom organization and maintaining a clean learning space
• Support children during meals, naptime, and transitions
• Follow Head Start health and safety policies
• Develop positive relationships with families and communicate progress
• Encourage parental involvement in classroom activities and events
