Job summary

The Briarcliff Manor UFSD athletic program seeks a head coach to organize and supervise a total sports program, guiding staff, promoting sportsmanship, and developing student athletes both on the field and in character.

You will work with the athletic director and principals to ensure compliance, mentor players through practices and games, and manage administrative duties including scheduling and equipment.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and continually review new theories and procedures.

Responsibilities

• The head coach reports to the athletic director and leads the athletic program in line with district policies.
• Trains and guides staff, coordinates clinics, and evaluates assistants.
• Supervises administrative duties including scheduling, transportation, and eligibility compliance.
• Mentors student athletes to develop character traits such as trust, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
• Ensures student athletes’ grades and conduct are monitored; provides guidance during travel and practices.
• Delivers and enforces training rules and sport-specific regulations for participants.
• Manages budgeting, equipment, and inventory; maintains facilities and ensures safety.
