Job summary

Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District is seeking a head coach to lead the athletic program and develop student athletes in the assigned sport. The position emphasizes instruction, program supervision and commitment to character development.

The coach will work with the athletic director and principals to schedule practices and events, supervise staff, and uphold safety, sportsmanship and the district's standards.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (Major sports).
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
• The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.

Responsibilities

• All duties listed under STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES (train and inform staff, encourage professional growth, supervise and evaluate assistants).
• Maintains discipline and morale; delegates duties and analyzes staff effectiveness.
• Assists athletic director in scheduling, transportation, and tournament/ sport events; ensures adherence to facility times.
