Job summary

Briarcliff Manor UFSD is seeking a head coach to organize and supervise the district's total sports program and to lead a coaching staff across high school and middle school levels. The role requires proven coaching success in major sports, deep technical knowledge, and a commitment to exemplary behavior and student development.

Responsibilities include skill instruction, program oversight, staff coordination, and collaboration with athletic leadership to foster sportsmanship, safety and growth

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (Major sports).
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and stay current with theories and procedures.
• Must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.

Responsibilities

• The head coach reports to the athletic director with objectives and evaluation.
• Supervises staff of high school and middle school coaches in coordination with the athletic director and principal.
• Instructs athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training to achieve individual and team success.
• Promotes character development, self discipline, confidence and pride in student athletes.
• Maintains discipline, handles grievances, and ensures safety and proper conduct.
• Participates in budgeting, equipment management and event coordination.
• Provides guidance to athletes in academics and college selection.
