The Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District is seeking a Head Coach for the Athletic Department to lead and supervise a comprehensive sports program at the high school level. Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (major sports).
• Head coach must have substantial knowledge of technical aspects and stay updated on theories and procedures.
• Head coach must serve as a role model for student athletes through conduct and instruction.

Responsabilités

• Thorough knowledge of athletic policies; ensure staff compliance and implementation.
• Understands system, state and league regulations; interprets for staff.
• Directs requests through proper channels and attends required meetings.
• Designs conferences, clinics and staff meetings; ensures staff awareness of program.
• Trains staff, promotes professional growth via clinics.
• Delegates duties, monitors implementation and evaluates assistants.
• Maintains discipline and morale; manages grievances.
• Performs duties assigned by athletic director/principal.
• Assist in scheduling, transportation, and tournament preparation.
• Prepare for events and coordinate facilities; work with maintenance and staff.
• Document state and system requirements for examinations, consent and eligibility.
• Safeguard equipment and sites; ensure protection.
• Advise athletic director on policy changes.
• Mentor athletes to develop character traits: trust, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship.
• Monitor athletes' grades and behavior.
• Provide guidance during travel and practices; ensure safety.
• Convey sport-specific rules and regulations to athletes.
• Initiate injury, medical, and emergency programs.
• Complete injury paperwork and submit promptly.
• Direct student managers, assistants and statisticians.
• Discipline management and communication with parents when needed.
• Assist athletes in college or advanced education selection.
• Participate in budgeting and equipment planning; stay within budget.
• Account for equipment; handle losses and returns.
• Issue, store and recondition equipment; maintain records.
• Mark and identify equipment; monitor equipment rooms and offices.
• Limit athlete access to authorized areas at appropriate times.
• Inspect locker rooms for cleanliness; maintain equipment.
• Secure doors, lights, and locks when leaving building.
• Instill respect for equipment and property.
• Organize preseason meetings with parents, coaches and players.
• Promote the sport within and outside the school; liaise with media and boosters.
