Job summary

Faire is seeking a Head of Workplace to own our real estate and workplace strategy across San Francisco and globally. You will lead the Workplace and Security team, manage leases, vendors, budgeting, and safety programs, and partner with Finance, People, IT, and Legal to align spaces with our mission of supporting independent retailers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of workplace experience in a high-growth company, including multi-office portfolios and office expansion.
• Hands-on experience with leases, vendors, and facilities, plus experience delivering projects on time and on budget.
• Comfort with data and budgets, and a good working relationship with Finance.
• Experience building teams that run with real autonomy.
• Credibility with senior leaders and the ability to make a clear recommendation and get a decision, even when the answer is unclear.
• Real interest in small business and entrepreneurship, and curiosity about how a workplace can reinforce a company's mission.

Responsibilities

• Own portfolio strategy including capacity planning and site selection, lease negotiations, renewals, and capital needs based on headcount and utilization data.
• Build business cases and investment recommendations balancing employee experience, cost, and flexibility.
• Contribute to hybrid work policies using internal data and external trends.
• Bring Faire's mission into our spaces by showcasing brands, hosting retailers, or building rituals connecting employees to customers.
• Design and implement in-office programs and iterate from employee feedback.
• Own daily facilities and workplace operations across all offices (food service, maintenance, cleaning).
• Set service standards and KPIs with vendors and enforce them.
• Own workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and business continuity with IT, Security, and Legal.
• Own operating and capital budgets and partner with Finance on forecasting.
• Set design standards for new offices and renovations; lead projects from design to occupancy within budget.
• Hire, coach, and grow the right team with clear ownership and escalation paths.
• Agree on decision processes with leadership for design, scope, and budget.
