Job summary

Venbrook is seeking a Director of Subrogation to lead and grow the subrogation department across the claims recovery lifecycle. This role owns strategy, operations, technology, and client relationships to drive recoveries and expand offerings.

The right candidate will build and scale a high-performing team, implement modernization initiatives, and partner with carriers, clients, and leadership to elevate performance and compliance across multi-state recoveries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced designations preferred (JD, MBA, CPCU, AIC, CSRP).
• 10+ years of subrogation or claims recovery across multiple lines, including complex or litigated cases.
• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing managers or multi-level teams.
• Proven track record building or scaling subrogation functions with measurable gains.
• Experience with technology or process modernization (systems, analytics, automation, AI).
• Strong client-facing and account management skills supporting business development and retention.

Responsibilities

• Set vision, strategy and annual goals for the subrogation department.
• Define operating model, roles, workflows and best practices.
• Monitor KPIs: recovery dollars, rate, cycle time, inventory age, cost, client satisfaction.
• Oversee daily operations, including workload balance and service standards.
• Provide guidance on complex recoveries, including liability analysis and settlements.
• Lead modernization of technology, data capture and reporting; collaborate with IT.
