Turo, Inc. seeks a Director of Recoveries to lead a hybrid team driving recovery strategies across claims and third-party vendors.

You will optimize subrogation, chargeback management, and collections while collaborating with Claims, Legal, and Finance to set policies that balance recoveries with customer experience. The role emphasizes data-driven strategy, KPI monitoring, and leveraging AI to boost efficiency and outcomes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience across recoveries, subrogation, collections, and chargebacks.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and manage a hybrid team of internal and external agents to achieve recovery and collections goals.
• Oversee subrogation from guest and third-party insurance carriers, including evaluation, negotiation, and settlement.
• Lead strategies to manage chargebacks, minimize losses, and pursue legitimate debts.
• Manage relationships with third-party collection agencies, ensuring performance and compliance.
• Monitor and report recovery KPIs, trends, and vendor performance; propose improvements.
• Partner with Claims, Legal, Finance and cross-functional teams on policies and processes.
• Leverage AI, technology, and automation to improve outcomes and efficiency.
• Participate in team and leadership meetings and training.
