Job summary

University of New England is seeking an experienced professional to lead Financial Planning within Student Financial Services on the Portland campus. This role provides high-level financial counseling, develops financial literacy education, and oversees private loan processing to guide students and families through costs and options.

The Senior Assistant Director reports to Administrative leadership and collaborates with Admissions, Registrar, and academic advising to ensure comprehensive

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to students and families.
• Strong understanding of federal loan programs, private education loans, and higher education financing strategies.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to develop educational content and present to groups.
• Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a student-centered approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, service-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level financial counseling to students and families.
