Job summary

The University of New England in Biddeford, ME, invites applications for the Associate Director of Student Employment. This leadership role oversees Federal Work Study and institutional work programs, ensuring compliance and effective payroll processing, and partners with Payroll, HR, and Career Readiness to support student employment.

The role focuses on policy development, staff supervision, and data-driven improvements to enhance student engagement and success across campus.

Qualifications

• Experience administering student employment and payroll workflows.
• Experience with Federal Work Study or other federally regulated student employment programs.
• Ability to explain employment policies and payroll procedures to students and supervisors.
• Experience ensuring compliance and accurate reporting for student employment.
• Experience designing training resources for students and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the University’s student employment programs, including FWS and institutional work.
• Ensure student employment policies and processes comply with regulations and requirements.
• Coordinate hiring workflows, onboarding, and supervisor approvals.
• Partner with Payroll, HR, and campus departments to support payroll processing and time reporting.
• Train and support supervisors and student employees on hiring procedures and payroll expectations.
• Analyze program data and recommend improvements to strengthen compliance and efficiency.
• Supervise the Assistant Director of Student Employment and student employees assigned to Student Financial Services.
