Job summary

UGE is seeking a Director of Development to lead the Development Department, including Project Developers, Interconnection Specialists, and Development Managers, advancing solar and energy storage projects from concept to Notice to Proceed (NTP). You will oversee budgets, forecasting, staffing, and strategic planning, reporting to the COO on milestones and performance.

This onsite hybrid role requires coordinating with M&A, engineering, and project finance teams to deliver a robust development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred; engineering degree strongly preferred.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in a senior development/leadership role.
• Experience leading development teams with multiple direct reports and navigating NTPs/financings.
• Strong written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Development Department and a team including Project Developers, Interconnection Specialist, and Project Development Managers.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, resourcing, and strategic planning for project development.
• Monitor NTP forecasts, budgets, risks, and opportunities across the development pipeline.
• Coordinate with engineering, deployment, project finance, and M&A to ensure smooth project progression.
• Drive external diligence and financing processes and lead cross-functional collaboration to close transactions.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with company strategy and culture.
