Job summary

Origis Energy is seeking a Senior Manager or Director of Project Development to drive pipeline growth for utility-scale solar and storage projects. Remote position with significant travel responsibilities and direct collaboration with financing, EPC, and operations teams.

Your role centers on leading development activities, coordinating permitting, interconnection, and land acquisition, and steering project teams to successful financial close and long-term profitability.

Qualifications

• BS and/or BA; MBA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressively development/origination/solar finance experience for Senior Project Development Manager.
• 10+ years of increasingly progressive development/origination/solar finance experience for the Director position.
• Strong knowledge of solar development tools such as PV Syst outputs, interconnection study results, permit studies and financial models.
• Broad knowledge of the full spectrum of solar development process and willingness to learn.
• Familiarity and comfort with landowner negotiations.
• Experience assembling project development teams and managing consultants.
• Experience in public presentations and guiding 3rd party development relations.
• Preparation of project critical path analyses and recommendations.
• Experience with reviewing and providing inputs for financial models.
• Experience and deep understanding of the U.S. utility scale solar and energy storage markets.
• Experience with interconnection from application through LGIA finalization.
• Have exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other internal teams to develop and execute on annual goals for execution of existing projects, developing existing projects and siting new projects.
• The management of all aspects of solar and storage project development.
• Manage the project permitting process throughout the development cycle for solar and storage projects.
• Evaluate transmission grids and land constraints to make comprehensive presentations to management on ideal locations for new projects.
• Interface directly with landowners, internal Origis Land Team, and land consultants to secure selected sites.
• Support early-stage interconnection team with applications, following interconnection process management.
• Form comprehensive project teams using Origis Tier 1 consultants to conduct early-stage risk analysis.
• Assist in PPA negotiations and management customer relations during development.
• Organize and share development documentation with Origis Investment, Finance and Construction teams to assure project success and profitability.
• Manage vendors and project budgets through SAP system.
