Job summary

Vanguard Search Partners, LLC is seeking a Chief Development Officer for Solar & Storage with hybrid arrangements on the East or West Coast to lead the development function in the U.S.

You will shape the pipeline from site selection to ready-to-build, manage regional teams, navigate interconnection and policy, and report to the CEO, COO and investors.

This is an executive role offering meaningful equity and direct access to the board to guide the next growth cycle.

Qualifications

• Experience as CDO/SVP/VP Development in U.S. solar or storage.
• Proven ownership of multi-project development pipelines and budgets.
• Experience building and leading regional development teams.
• Strong understanding of interconnection, permitting and state-level policy.
• Board and investor-facing credibility with landowners and utilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional development heads, permitting, environmental, land and interconnection teams.
• Define market entry and state-by-state priorities as policy and utility landscapes shift.
• Oversee site control, permitting and siting strategy.
• Oversee interconnection strategy and utility relationships.
• Oversee community and stakeholder engagement.
• Handover to construction, capital allocation and pipeline reporting to CEO, COO and investors.
