Job summary

Unknown company seeks a Director of Development to lead the identification, origination, and advancement of community solar, standalone storage, and distributed generation across the region. You will guide a team of development managers from site control to NTP.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in renewable energy, strong market insight, and a proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy or related field.
10+ years in renewable energy project development or related management.
Experience leading development teams and talent retention.
Deep knowledge of power market dynamics, permitting, interconnection, and project life cycle.
Strong financial acumen in project finance and revenue stacking.
Excellent negotiation and strategic decision-making.
Willingness to travel across the region.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute regional strategy to grow the project pipeline.
Mentor and build capabilities of development team.
Set and monitor stage-gate criteria for capital investments.
Report portfolio progress and risk to executive leadership.
Oversee full-cycle development for portfolio (>100 MW) from land acquisition to NTP.
Lead siting, environmental permitting, interconnection, budgeting and stakeholder engagement.
Negotiate vendor contracts and consultant engagements.
Collaborate with Real Estate, Interconnection, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Construction teams.
