Job summary

Thompson Solutions Group seeks an experienced Director of Service to lead growth, profitability, and operations for the Service Division. You will guide electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and small-project operations and manage service managers, field leaders, and technicians in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 8+ years of leadership in service operations, strong financial acumen, and exceptional communication and team-building skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in construction/engineering/business administration.
• 8+ years of leadership experience in service operations (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, or skilled trades).
• 5+ years leading field technicians, service managers, project managers, or trade professionals.
• Proven success growing a service business with accountability for growth and profitability.
• Strong financial, operational, and strategic business acumen.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-development skills.
• Strong customer relationships and business development capabilities.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall performance and growth of the Service Division.
• Develop and execute strategies to improve profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
• Manage department financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and KPIs.
• Oversee daily service operations: staffing, scheduling, dispatching, and project execution.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and strategic accounts.
• Support business development and expand recurring revenue opportunities.
• Recruit, develop, and mentor service managers and field leaders.
• Promote safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Leverage technology and data to enhance service delivery and customer experience.
