Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in construction/engineering/business administration.
• 8+ years of leadership experience in service operations (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, or skilled trades).
• 5+ years leading field technicians, service managers, project managers, or trade professionals.
• Proven success growing a service business with accountability for growth and profitability.
• Strong financial, operational, and strategic business acumen.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-development skills.
• Strong customer relationships and business development capabilities.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall performance and growth of the Service Division.

• Manage department financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and KPIs.
• Oversee daily service operations: staffing, scheduling, dispatching, and project execution.

Director of Service

Thompson Solutions Group is seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Service to lead the growth, profitability, and operational performance of our Service Division.

In this role, you will provide leadership and direction for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and small-project operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the skilled trades and understands what it takes to lead service managers, field leaders, technicians, and support teams in a fast-paced service environment.

Working closely with company leadership, you will drive operational excellence, strengthen customer relationships, develop high-performing teams, and position the Service Division for continued growth and success.

What You'll Do

• 5+ years of experience leading field technicians, service managers, project managers, or trade professionals is required.
• Proven success managing a service business with responsibility for growth, profitability, and workforce development.
• Strong financial, operational, and strategic business acumen.
• Exceptional leadership and team development skills.
• Strong customer relationship and business development capabilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
