Job summary

Thompson Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Director of Service to lead the growth, profitability, and operational performance of our Service Division. You will guide electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and small-project operations, leading service managers, field leaders, technicians, and support teams in a fast-paced environment.

You will drive operational excellence, strengthen customer relationships, develop high-performing teams, and position the Service Division for continued growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 8+ years of leadership experience in skilled-trades service operations (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, construction).
• 5+ years leading field technicians, service managers, project managers, or trade professionals.
• Proven success in growing a service business with profitability and workforce development.
• Strong financial, operational, and strategic business acumen.
• Exceptional leadership and team development skills.
• Strong customer relationship and business development capabilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall performance and growth of the Service Division.
• Develop and execute strategies that improve profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
• Manage department financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and key performance metrics.
• Oversee daily service operations, including staffing, scheduling, dispatching, and project execution.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and strategic accounts.
• Support business development efforts and expand recurring revenue opportunities.
• Recruit, develop, and mentor service managers and field leaders.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Leverage technology and performance data to enhance service delivery and the customer experience.

In this role, you will provide leadership and direction for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and small-project operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the skilled trades and understands what it takes to lead service managers, field leaders, technicians, and support teams in a fast-paced service environment.

What We're Looking For

• Exceptional leadership and team development skills.
• Strong customer relationship and business development capabilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
