Job summary

Ripple is seeking a Senior Director of Security Engineering to build and lead a dedicated team responsible for securing Ripple’s products, infrastructure, and corporate IT. You will shape the security strategy, mentor engineers, and embed security into every layer of the technology stack.

This hands-on leadership role emphasizes AI security, guardrails for AI agents, and a culture of continual learning. You will collaborate across engineering, product, and IT to advance risk-based security

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in security engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in a leadership or management role.
• Hands-on expertise in AI security and guardrails.
• Expert knowledge of security architecture across cloud environments.
• Strong communication of security risks to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic vision and roadmap for the Security Engineering team with focus on AI security.
• Serve as security domain expert and communicate risks to leadership and partners.
• Define guardrails around AI agents and tools within Ripple's environment.
• Implement SDLC guardrails, testing gates, and human oversight for AI workflows.
• Mentor and strengthen a high-performing security engineering team.
• Drive security guidelines across the engineering organization.
• Lead security architecture reviews for new products and major initiatives.
• Own the vulnerability management program and remediation coordination.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and IT leadership on security priorities.
