Job summary

Summit Public Schools in California is seeking a Dean of Operations to lead non-instructional school-site operations for both Middle and High schools. You will oversee attendance, nutrition, enrollment, facilities, health and safety, scheduling, records, testing, and transportation, while supporting key compliance projects and supervising the operations team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred.
• Operations and/or prior school experience is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience in project and people management is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience with data or analysis is preferred.
• Proficiency in Google Platforms (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides).
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification.
• Clear health and background check.

Responsibilities

• Manage systems and processes to support daily attendance and collaborate with Executive Directors on both sites to ensure attendance goals.
• Ensure regular attendance reports are submitted on time and in compliance.
• Oversee attendance interventions including truancy protocols.
• Lead Recruitment and Enrollment processes to meet enrollment goals.
• Manage lotteries and registration for prospective students and ensure charter petition compliance.
• Oversee health and safety measures, drills, and safety plan updates.
• Coordinate with Facilities on maintenance, repairs, and site upgrades.
• Oversee meals and the National School Lunch Program compliance.
• Supervise Records and Testing: maintenance of student files and transcripts; support testing prep.
• Support scheduling: school master schedule design and student timetable creation.
• Coordinate Transportation: daily bussing and public transit coordination, reporting and compliance.
• Serve on the school admin team and manage support staff (Community Engagement Manager, Office Assistants, Americorp, etc.).
