Job summary

Patriot Rail, operating Granite State Railway in Lincoln, NH, seeks an Assistant General Manager (Safety Lead) to champion safety culture and drive daily operations. You will work with the General Manager and Meredith, NH leadership to ensure safety, compliance, and excellent customer service across rail and excursion activities.

The role demands 5+ years in hospitality or safety management, strong leadership, and knowledge of railway regulations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hospitality experience or safety management experience.
• Not a typical 9-5 role; weekends and holidays are busy.
• Demonstrated leadership in railroad, transportation, logistics, hospitality, or similar
• Working knowledge of railway operations and safety practices
• Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to lead teams in a dynamic field-oriented environment

Responsibilities

• Lead safety leadership activities: safety tenets, audits, risk reduction, incidents, corrective actions, and training.
• Support daily railroad operations, customer service initiatives, and performance monitoring.
• Manage workforce scheduling, resource planning, and coordination with maintenance teams.
• Develop and mentor Granite State Railway staff; reinforce Patriot Rail values.
• Foster relationships with customers, community stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
