Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Director of People Success to partner with the Product and Engineering leaders, shaping org design, people strategy, and growth in a fast-moving AI infrastructure company. You will build leadership capability, design career paths, and lead people programs to scale with the business.

You will drive engagement, retention, and analytics, partnering with senior leaders to create a high-trust culture that aligns with Crusoe’s energy-first mission and rapid expansion.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner or equivalent, with meaningful time supporting Product and/or Engineering organizations.
• Deep fluency in what makes tech orgs tick — you understand engineers and PMs, what motivates them, and how to build trust in a technical environment.
• A track record of partnering with senior leaders on org design, headcount planning, and talent strategy.
• Comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments — you don’t need a perfect playbook to do great work.
• Strong data orientation — you use people analytics to tell stories, spot risks, and drive change.
• The kind of follow-through that makes people trust you completely — you do what you say, communicate proactively, and never leave a leader guessing.
• High EQ and sound judgment — especially in sensitive people situations.
• Experience coaching managers through difficult performance conversations, team dynamics, and leadership transitions.
• The ability to work autonomously and drive initiatives from concept to execution — you’re a builder, not just an executor.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Bonus Points: curiosity about AI, experience supporting a hypergrowth tech company, familiarity with HRIS/ATS like Workday or Ashby.
• Experience building or refining people programs from scratch in a scaling organization.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Partnership: advise Product and Engineering VPs on org design, team structure, and people strategy as the business scales.
• Talent Planning: lead organizational assessments and headcount planning to ensure tech teams are built for where Crusoe is going.
• Manager Development: coach and develop engineering and product managers, helping them level up as leaders.
• Career Frameworks: partner with leaders on leveling, growth paths, and career development for a world-class tech org.
• Talent Development: build structured programs — mentorship tracks and leadership pipelines — to translate potential into sustained performance.
• Engagement & Retention: drive strategies tailored to the needs of technical talent.
• People Analytics: use data to identify trends in organizational health and translate insights into action.
• Talent Acquisition Partnership: collaborate with recruiting on hiring strategy and candidate experience for key tech roles.
• People Programs: develop and refine programs — performance cycles, compensation reviews, management development.
• Culture & Inclusion: champion an inclusive, high-trust culture where diverse perspectives are valued.
• Change Management: lead teams through org evolution and fast growth.
