Job summary

Nexstar Media Group seeks an experienced Senior Director of Content & Innovation to lead the Content First transformation across local markets nationwide. This corporate role will partner with station leadership to strengthen content creation, accelerate innovation, and drive audience growth across broadcast, streaming, digital, social, and emerging platforms.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of leadership in local media, journalism, or digital content
• Experience in senior content roles (News Director, Director of Content & Innovation, etc.) preferred
• Proven track record leading high-performing teams and driving organizational change
• Strong multiplatform content strategy and familiarity with emerging media trends

Responsibilities

• Partner with local market leadership to advance Nexstar's Content First strategy.
• Drive innovation in content creation, storytelling, audience engagement, and platform distribution.
• Identify and implement workflow improvements to increase efficiency and multiplatform production.
• Lead adoption of AI, automation, and emerging technologies to support content creation and newsroom operations.
• Coach and develop Directors of Content & Innovation, News Directors, and content teams.
• Share and scale best practices and innovative content strategies across markets.
• Analyze audience trends and performance metrics to improve results.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
