Nexstar Media Group, Inc. is seeking a Director of Content & Innovation in Panama City, FL. This senior leader will drive a multiplatform content strategy spanning broadcast, streaming, digital, social, and emerging platforms to grow audiences and audience impact.

The role requires a visionary leader who modernizes workflows, mentors a young staff, and upholds top journalistic standards across all platforms. You’ll lead a dynamic newsroom in a supportive community setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or related field.
• Minimum five years newsroom experience, including at least two years in content leadership or data‑driven decision making.
• Proven ability to lead content teams across multiple platforms (digital, social, streaming, and broadcast).

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the Content Department across newsroom operations, digital content, streaming/CTV, social media, weather, sports, and content production.
• Develop and execute a multiplatform content strategy focused on audience growth, engagement, and community impact.
• Build a “Content First” culture prioritizing storytelling, audience needs, and platform optimization.
• Establish and manage rolling editorial workflows for cross‑platform content movement.
• Drive growth of live streaming, CTV programming, digital video, and vertical video initiatives.
• Lead recruitment, coaching, training, and performance management for all content staff.
• Use audience insights and analytics to inform decisions and improve results.
• Encourage experimentation and development of new formats differentiating the station.
• Identify opportunities for growth and operational efficiency with leadership partners.
• Oversee budgets, resources, and investments in technology and workflow.
