Verity Search is seeking an Underwriting Manager / Head of Credit to lead credit operations for a fast-growing national mortgage company. Remote, high-impact role overseeing Non-QM, Government, and Agency loans, with AI-driven automation and high-level risk oversight.

You will mentor senior underwriters, refine credit policy, and collaborate with Sales, Compliance, and Product to align with investor demands. 8+ years' underwriting leadership and DE/SAR preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mortgage underwriting and credit leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on mastery of Non-QM, Government (FHA/VA/USDA), and Agency (DU/LP) guidelines.
• Experience with automated underwriting ecosystems and AI-driven workflows.
• Ability to analyze portfolio health and translate risk data into policies.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern credit risk appetite across Non-QM, Government, and Agency channels.
• Escalate complex, non-standard borrower scenarios as the final internal authority.
• Lead and mentor a team focused on high-level underwriting quality control.
• Implement pre- and post-funding audit mechanisms to manage risk and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Development, Secondary Marketing, and Compliance.
