Job summary

Quorum Federal Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Underwriting Team Lead to manage underwriting of first and second mortgages. This remote role emphasizes collaboration, leadership, and adherence to investor and regulatory requirements.

You will lead underwriting staff, drive efficiency, and utilize AI-enhanced tools to improve decision quality and workflow. The position requires banking experience and knowledge of secondary market guidelines.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field.
5+ years of experience at a credit union, bank, or financial institution.
3+ years of leadership/management experience.
Experience with mortgage platforms and AI-enabled tools.

Responsibilities

Underwrite all mortgage files within delegated authority and in compliance with guidelines.
Review loan files for accuracy and risk.
Monitor mortgage pipeline for timely processing and service levels.
Lead, coach, and develop underwriting staff.
Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
Use AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and decision quality.
Collaborate with Mortgage Loan Officers, Operations, Secondary Market, and vendors.
Stay current on regulations and investor guidelines.
