Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Head of Corporate Development / Head of Strategy to drive the next growth phase for a sponsor-backed software company. You will partner with executives and investors to lead the M&A agenda and strategic initiatives.

You will oversee deal sourcing, valuation, integration, and strategic planning, influencing the direction of growth and value creation across the organization in a hybrid work setting in Austin and beyond.

Qualifications

• Approximately 12-15 years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, and Corporate Development/Strategy.
• Strong M&A transaction experience including sourcing and execution.
• Experience evaluating acquisitions and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the company's corporate development and M&A strategy.
• Identify, source, and evaluate acquisition opportunities.
• Build financial models, valuation analyses, and investment recommendations.
• Manage transaction execution, including diligence, negotiations, and closing processes.
• Oversee post-merger integration and value creation initiatives.
• Partner with senior leadership on strategic planning and growth initiatives.
• Develop relationships with investment banks, private equity firms, and industry participants.
• Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies.
• Present strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the Board.
