Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. seeks a Director, IT Field Services USA to lead a distributed team of Regional IT Managers, serving as the single point of contact for Area Vice Presidents and ensuring delivery of best-in-class IT leadership and support across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or Business Management or equivalent executive leadership experience.
• 10+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 3+ years in a senior leadership role managing multi-region teams.
• Direct experience in heavy industry, logistics, waste management, environmental services, or multi-site industrial operations is strongly preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 30–40% across the US to engage directly with Regional Managers and maintain a visible presence.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of Regional IT Managers across the USA area.
• Partner closely with the AVP to coordinate and prioritize all technical requests across applications, infrastructure, and facilities.
• Lead the USA area IT operations, building deep knowledge of the business region and fostering strong cross-functional relationships.
• Translate AVP requirements into technical specifications and IT solutions to advance business performance and outcomes.
• Oversee IT service delivery, governance, and cost‑efficient operations while aligning with business priorities.
• Stay abreast of IT trends and lead agile initiatives to deliver innovative solutions for evolving business needs.
