Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. seeks a Director, IT Field Services USA to lead the IT field services across the USA, reporting to the Senior Director, IT Field Support. You will oversee multiple Regional IT Managers, ensuring service delivery meets stakeholder expectations and drives business value.

You will translate business requirements into technical specifications, apply Agile practices, and build strong relationships with AVPs and senior leaders to deliver strategic IT solutions.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Management, or equivalent executive leadership experience.
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3+ years in a senior leadership role managing multi-region teams.
• Industry Knowledge: Direct experience in heavy industry, logistics, waste management, environmental services, or multi-site industrial operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of multiple Regional IT Managers across the USA area, ensuring high team performance and consistent service delivery.
• Partner with the AVP to coordinate and prioritize all technical requests, including applications, infrastructure, M&A integrations, and facility needs.
• Lead the USA area IT operations, developing deep knowledge of the business region and cultivating positive relationships.
• Confer with IT leadership to determine technology needs, ensuring solutions advance business performance.
• Manage relationships with business stakeholders, senior management, and fellow IT Directors.
• Determine AVP requirements and recommend modifications for operational applications and systems to optimize regional performance.
• Direct and guide Regional IT Managers regarding Tier I-III support, escalating when necessary.
• Stay informed on IT industry trends to identify opportunities and address business needs.
• Solve customer challenges to produce effective, scalable technical solutions.
• Assist in IT communications function with the AVP for transparency and alignment.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
