The role requires deep pharma IP expertise, including Hatch-Waxman litigation, IP due diligence, licensing, and cross-functional leadership to maximize asset value and support BD activities.

Qualificações

• JD from an accredited law school (required).
• Active membership in at least one US State Bar.
• Registered Patent Attorney before the USPTO.
• 15+ years of pharmaceutical IP experience.

Head of Intellectual Property Counsel (Patents, Litigation & Trademarks)-Senior Director

Location: Raleigh, N.C. (Hybrid with periodic travel)

Reports To: EVP-Global IPR Head and Portfolio (India and Emerging Market)

Position Summary:

The Head of Intellectual Property Counsel North America will lead and oversee company intellectual property strategy, patent and Trademark portfolio, patent litigation, trademark protection, and brand-related IP matters across the pharmaceutical business for North America region. The role is responsible for maximizing the value of the company's intellectual assets while protecting commercial brands, pipeline products, life-cycle management strategies, and freedom-to-operate objectives.

This executive leadership position requires deep expertise in pharmaceutical patent prosecution, Hatch-Waxman litigation, biologics/IP exclusivity, trademark management, brand protection, licensing, and IP due diligence supporting business development activities.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in at least one US State Bar.
• Registered Patent Attorney before the USPTO.

Technical Background:

One or more of the following:

• PhD, MS, or BS in:
• Organic Chemistry
• Medicinal Chemistry
• Molecular Biology
• Biotechnology
• Pharmaceutical Sciences

Experience:

• 15+ years of pharmaceutical intellectual property experience.
• 8+ years leading global pharmaceutical IP portfolios.
• Significant experience managing external counsel and cross-functional legal teams.
• Demonstrated success in high-value patent litigation and prosecution matters.
• Extensive trademark strategy and global brand protection experience.
