Job summary

Spyre Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director, Intellectual Property Counsel to lead global IP strategy, portfolio management, and risk assessment.

This hands-on role combines leadership with strong scientific fluency to guide patent prosecution, trade secrets, and strategic transactions across a growing biotechnology pipeline. The successful candidate will oversee outside counsel, manage budgets, and advise senior leadership on IP priorities, with potential to assume Chief IP Counsel

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
• Broad biotechnology/pharmaceutical patent law experience with leadership.
• Experience managing outside counsel and IP budgets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global IP strategies aligned with Spyre's pipeline.
• Build and manage patent portfolios for biologics and related technologies.
• Oversee patent prosecution and due diligence for strategic transactions.
• Lead IP risk assessment and provide actionable counsel to executive leadership.
