Job summary

Legora in New York is seeking a Director of Business Operations to build and run Legora's coordination engine. You will own the operating model, planning cadence, and company-wide metric tree while partnering with the C-suite and PMO to drive performance reviews.

You will lead a new Business Operations team, shape cross-functional integration, and govern critical systems (Notion, Slack). This role blends build-and-run leadership in a fast-growing legal tech company.

Qualifications

• 15+ years combining analytical rigor with hands-on operating work, including leading people.
• Track record running company-wide planning (OKRs, metric trees, operating cadence) at 1000+ people, ideally through hyper-growth.
• Strong analytics fluency — comfortable owning a metric tree end to end and driving a data-informed MBR/QBR cadence, using SQL and building dashboards.
• Operating judgment across altitudes — move from leadership discussions to in-the-weeds implementation.
• Executive presence and backbone to build trust fast with founders and VPs.
• Builder's bias: create structure rather than inherit it; question automation feasibility and headcount constraints.

Responsibilities

• Own the operating model end to end: direction setting, cascading to teams, decision rights, and quarterly cadence.
• Design and run company-wide planning cadence, metric tree, and executive alignment.
• Translate metric-tree analysis into business cases for bets and investments.
• Define and enforce the decision-rights framework across the organization.
• Partner with internal communications across 20+ locations to keep leadership honest.
• Own the business systems backbone (Notion, Slack governance, knowledge management) in collaboration with IT.
• Build and lead the Business Operations team and scale the steady-state operational layer as Legora grows.
